Documentary & Commercial Photography · UK & Worldwide

Capturing the spirit of place, the grit of the elements, and the character of heritage stays and outdoor brands.

Natural light, quiet observation, and zero artificial staging. Based in the UK, traveling anywhere an authentic story needs telling.

Staged scenes fade fast.
Atmosphere lasts.

The world doesn’t need more sterile hotel rooms shot on tripods with synthetic flash, or outdoor models pretending to hike on manicured lawns.

Real hospitality and outdoor craft are defined by texture, weather, and how a place breathes throughout a day. My approach comes from years of tracking wildlife through driving rain, studying weathered coastal architecture, and letting scenes unfold naturally. I work unobtrusively on location, building visual libraries that feel honest, lived-in, and memorable.

Behind the Lens

Stag Direct Gaze in ParklandWildlife

A camera over my shoulder.
Boots in the mud.

I’m Chris Kimpton, an environmental and documentary photographer based in the UK.

Over the past five years, my camera has been an excuse to spend hours in wet fields waiting for wildlife to turn its head, walk narrow alleyways across North Africa, and study how natural light transforms historic stone and coastline.

In commercial work, I bring that same patience and documentary eye to every project. I believe the strongest brand imagery happens when you don't over-direct—when you allow a hotel's natural rhythm or a brand's rugged materials to speak for themselves.

When I’m not on an assignment, you’ll usually find me on the coast or in the woodlands with a camera over my shoulder and boots in the mud.
